Germanys first cases of COVID-19 were registered in January 2020. The following lockdown led to self isolation which meant to reduce almost all of my social contacts. „Danke, Gut“ translated into English as „Fine, thanks“ was my (and probably everyone‘s) response to the most asked question in times of the pandemic.
To avoid the feeling of emptiness, I started to work on a diary, with the goal to shoot at least one valid picture every day as a “diary entry”. It led me to walk miles and miles through the streets of Berlin.
It seemed like the world had stopped moving - but did it? Each day I looked for signs of changes caused by COVID-19 and every day turned out to be different from anything I used to know before COVID-19. The result of my work is a chronological series consisting of 82 pictures from the first day of self-isolation until the last.
